Printer's coat / Printer coat

Inspired by the work coats that originated in France during the Industrial Revolution in the mid-1800s, Letterpress Letters has created an original design for workwear incorporating unique ideas. The aim was to create a unisex work coat that can be worn as an outer layer for everyday wear.

Court specifications

tool

A "unit conversion chart" patch is sewn onto the left sleeve, hand-printed one by one by a craftsman using letterpress printing.

Sleeve Length

The short sleeves ensure safety during work, and have two buttons to keep the wrists neat and tidy.

The buttons are custom-made in the same blue, the symbolic color of French workwear.

Purpose

It is packed with our unique ideas, such as a long, narrow pocket for storing tools specifically for letterpress printing, and a holder for the cloth (dishcloth) that is essential for the job.

Fabric

Made from durable, thick cotton, it can be washed in a home washing machine.

Printer apron / Printer apron

This apron is designed based on a printer coat. It is easy to use as workwear or for cooking. It is a favorite item of the staff at the cafe in the Tomigaya main store.

TYPEFACE FUROSHIKI

Furoshiki Scarf

Furoshiki wrapping cloths have been used in Japan since ancient times. TYPEFACE FUROSHIKI has been reborn as a modern textile product, using wooden type to create a design that retains a sense of craftsmanship. In addition to wrapping items, they can also be used as bags, scarves, or room decor.

The design is based on hand-printed material, so any faint or damaged letters are printed as they are.

type

The wooden type used is a reproduction of "Intermezzo," a typeface invented in 1933. It features an experimental design with geometric letters separated into upper and lower parts. The presentation box is also made from paper on which the same type has been hand-printed.

material

The material is 100% satin cotton fabric. It is durable and can be used as a bag without any problems. It feels a little stiff at first, but it will become softer with use.

TYPEFACE FAN

Typeface Folding Fan

This traditional Japanese handicraft, the folding fan, has been given a modern Japanese feel through letterpress printing and design. The TYPEFACE FAN print, a play on the words FAN (fan and fan enthusiast), makes this a unique masterpiece.

The fan surface uses the Italian serif font "Bodoni," including the alphabet and decorative letters (ornaments), creating a feminine and elegant look.

Color scheme

The colors of the main and central ribs vary depending on the design of the fan, so you can choose one that suits your fashion and the occasion.
