We are pleased to announce details of a new special exhibition to be held at our Kuroiso store from March to April. After its run in Kuroiso, this exhibition will move to Tokyo and also be displayed at the Tomigaya Cafe!

"Yuriko Wada Paper Parade – The Charm of Curious Paper Letterpress Type"

Traditionally, typefaces have primarily been made from metal or wood, but artist Yuriko Wada has created "paper typefaces = Papertype." Paper type offers unique advantages not found in conventional metal or wood type, such as suitability for mass production, lightness, and ease of transport.
The greatest appeal of this paper type is that it can be processed with scissors or cutters. There's a fun aspect in intentionally changing shapes by scratching or shaving, which expands the range of expression.
This is a small exhibition of works using such Papertype. Works from Wada's brand "Paper Parade" will also be exhibited and sold. Please take this opportunity to enjoy the world created by paper type.

You can take home two business card-sized cards, a mini envelope, and the paper type you used.
